You might have to use CTRL + F to find keywords, because I've written a fucking lot Wink

But hey, I suggest you read it all, since everything matters.
Good luck.

Intro:

Vinewood Entertainment Company is a filmproduction-company located in the filmstudios in Vinewood. It has been accepted as a family - we are just waiting for an empty slot.

We would like it to be a faction/business, but first we need to convince the admins, that we are good RP'ers and we produce videos of quality. If we can convince them, they might consider making us a real faction.

We are sponsored by the government (and admins). In fact, we are the official entertainment company of San Andreas.

Here is the letter I (Albert Ravn) sent to governor of San Andreas, Xavier Anderson:

***LETTER START***

Dear Governor Xavier Anderson,

I am writing this letter, because I need your help and permission.

My good friend Joe Wilkerson and I are both experienced filmmakers. We work hard, and we do not stop, until our goal is reached. We are fair, productive and we have high ambitions.

We are in need of a good place to unfold ourselves, and to display what WE can do for the civillians, and the state of San Andreas. This is where our attention comes to Vinewood; the old studios have not been used for years, and that is a shame. We want to put some fresh life into the studios, by creating our very own film and entertainment-company and there by a whole new film- and celebrity-environment in Los Santos.

Joe and I shall be the leaders and head-producers of this company. We will hire people as staff of the company. This includes different roles such as directors, cameramen/technicians, actors, runners and bodyguards. Some times we will hire freelancers.
To gather people to our community, we (Joe and I) will be holding auditions, for people to try out their skills in the film-industry. This will be a way to help the civillians with a low income to make their way up, and reveal a new side of themselves.

We will produce all different kinds of videos; short films, musicvideos, prank-videoes, documentaries and sketches are examples. We will some times be co-operating with SANNews as our main partner.

This will be a huge opportunity for San Andreas to attract more tourism into our state, which will most likely increase the wealth of our government and municipalities.
We are currently searching for sponsors, and that is why I am sending this letter. The cameras are expensive, and the professional tools and vehicles are hard to achive. We can not afford buying the deeds, and at the same time all the needed equipment. Since the studios are currently in no use of anybody, this will lead me to my final sentence:

I, Albert Ravn, am hereby requesting the deeds of the Vinewood Studios to establish "Vinewood Entertainment Company".

We already have several people supporting us in this, and they are willing to start off as our first official staff. With your permission, we are ready to fulfill our own, and lots of people's dreams, as we become a part of the upcoming, unique and exciting film-environment in Vinewood.

I have withdrawn a DVD with our latest musicvideo.

Albert Ravn

***END OF LETTER***

Here is the letter Xavier sent back to me:

***LETTER START***

Dear Mr Ravn,

I apologize for the delay on the reply to this letter. I must have lost the pile that was on my desk, and found this unopened one.

I am extremely impressed by your presentation, and will hereby support the creation of this entertainment program,
Vinewood Entertainment Company. The Government will hereby recognize this company as the official entertainment
producing company in San Andreas, and most of our films should be produced here immediately (on your convenience of course.)

I've talked to my Vice Governor, and we have agreed to fund you a sum of $1,000,000 for the recruitment of staff. An expiration
date of August 2010 on your business deed.

Included is a copy of your deed. (( Its a fake link, but inside the deed has an expiration date of Aug 2010,
also attached is a contract for your studios to produce 1 music video every 3 weeks, for the next 12 weeks. Violation
of the contract will be a warning/fine or revoke of deed. ))

Kind regards, Xavier Anderson

***END OF LETTER***

General stuff:

Points:
We won't do points. We are not a very offensive company. We will only do points if we have an allied family to help us, who will let us capture the point.

RP:
We RP filmmakers who are addicted to drugs. Drug-dealing is a big money-source for us. (Scroll down to see the story of the company). It is important that all members of the family are good RP'ers, and that we RP full-time.

Since we are a non-violent company, most of the crew shouldn't carry guns at most times (at least not without a good reason). This would increase the RP a lot.
Bodyguards should always carry guns, though.

This will also make us appear more like a legal company.

Who will we hire?
We will only hire few people to the company - we don't need that many, and it's a way to keep it simple.
To be hired, you have to have a forum-account, RP good always (we will test new employees), know the rules of the server, know the IC laws and of course, you have to fit a rank of the company (if you have made videos before, send us link - this might get you a higher rank - remember that people who are not talented are useless to our company. )

Genres of films:

1. Short films:
Short films usually have a history or point in them. They are fictional, but can be based on true stories. Short films usually last 3 - 8 minutes. Popular short film-genres are love, action, crimes, money, power. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2mZPggj70Y

2. Soap-dramas:
A soap is like a comedy-show, where the plot is stretched out over several episodes. There is usually too many bad jokes, and lots of "canned laughter". Good examples of soaps are "Friends", "King of Queens", "Dawsons Creek" and "Beverly Hills 90210". Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5QYYPhY6L40

3. Musicvideos:
A video based on music - some music videos are based on the lyrics of the song, others are based on the style and tempo. In some musicvideoes there are stories, other are just people dancing and such, and some are all cryptic, weird and "art-like". Check out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tijW_SrCoxs

4. Documentaries/news:
If something strange is happening in San Andreas, or there are certain rumours going on about something or someone, we can cover the story and create a film from it. We can interview people, re-create the situations with actors, and even film whats going on, as evidence (hidden camera etc). Check: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZekosYOmXc

5. Sketches:
Sketches are short films, often played out in about 1 - 3 minutes. Sketches are supposed to be funny, or to prove a point.
A good example of sketches is "Monty Python's Flying Circus
". Another example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsjU0K8QPhs

6. Prank-videos:
We arrange a prank on one or more victim(s), just for the fun of it. With hidden camera, and often it will also include actors. The prank can be anything, it's all about fantasy. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xo1R17Gq6dg

7. Porn:
Footage of sexual acts performed by human beings. Remember: It's all about fantasy. Sometimes there can be short intros for porn. Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0.

The listed genres are examples - more might be added later.

Ranks:

The ranks of the company are as following:

1. Runner – collect drugs/materials for the company, go get coffee for the staff, and just do whatever you are told by the producers/directors. Runners are the "slaves" of the company, but they are also very free, since they don't have a steady role. Runners are always flexible. Runners will typically be the drivers, when the team is out on set. People start off as runners, until they get a promotion.

2. Bodyguard – These guys protect the crew and company from any threats. They will always follow, when the crew is out shooting a film. When not shooting film, they hang out at the studios in Vinewood most of the time. In general they just keep things safe and make sure nobody interrupts. Bodyguards are the only part of the company who always have to carry a gun (M4, deagle or mp5). Bodyguards can get runner-jobs (collecting drugs etc).

3. Actor – They are those who act in the movie. They are
expected to know the rules of the company perfectly. These men
will be shaped into the celebrities of Los Santos. They will be
treated as celebrities by staff if they are respectful to
others. Their considerations to movies will be considered, but
they must always let the director have the last word.
(You dont always have to be a part of the company to act in a film.
Sometimes we need a lot of people, so we will just make
advertisements, use contacts and newsreports to find people to
star)

4. Cameraman – The man behind the camera. These
men will also be the technicians of the company. They can give
suggestions to the script of music videos/films. (( They use
fraps to record and send the videos to the producers, who will
edit it )). The cameraman must listen to the director. How to film: Toggle the view-mode to 1st person (you can only do it when you are in a vehicle), toggle the chatlog and screen-icons off (F7), and then record your screen with fraps when you're told to.

5. Director – They decide how scenes of videos go down.
They will be treated with higher prestige than almost the whole crew.
They direct actors and cameramen, and make sure everything goes as planned.
They must always ask for permission from the producers, before making a big decision.
These men will be in charge when producers aren’t in town. Directors can also be cameramen.

6. Producer – Takes the final decisions of everything. Producers always have the last words, and they must be listened to at all times. Producers can also work as directors.
They will edit the footage received, and plan how and when the filming will go on, by making the final production-plan.
The producers are also respondsible for all economy and pay for the employees.

IMPORTANT NOTE:
The actual number of the ranks don't really mean much - if you're good at acting, you should be a rank 3, not a rank 4, because rank 4 is for cameramen. If you're a good bodyguard, you shouldn't be promoted to a cameraman, just because you're good at protecting - you might not be as good a cameraman, as you are a bodyguard. So the number itself doesn't really matter much.

We hire only few people, because it's all about TALENT. People who are not talented are useless to our company.
Before we hire people, we test their RP-skills, their OOC knowledge, and what rank they fit in the company.

The process of creating a film:

When a producer or director has an idea for a film, he will write it down, and tell the others about it. The idea will be discussed, and then the producers will discuss if it should be accepted or not. (if you have an idea for a film, you should write it down, and post the "script" in a new thread on our forums. it makes it easier to understand)

If the idea gets accepted, the producer(s) of the film will put together a team for the project. Not all members of the company has to join in on every production - in fact, they should pick as few as possible, since it is much easier to control.

The producer(s) will make a final plan of the project to make everything clear (and post on forums before making the film) - see the example below:

***PRODUCTION PLAN EXAMPLE START***

Production-plan:

Producer: Albert Ravn
Director: Joe Wilkerson
Camera: Max Power
Editor: Albert Ravn
Bodyguards: Frank Hunt, Paul Piotrowski
Runner(s): Jake Lee, Jamar Wether

Actor(s):
Joe Woode is Harry Potter.
Spike Lee is Ronald Weasly.
Lucas Cane is Hermione Granger.

Title: Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets
Genre: Fiction

Plot: Harry Potter and his friends (Ron and Hermione) finds a secret underground tunnel to the chamber of secrets in the bathroom of Hogwarts. They go down there, and they meet a big snake. Ron gets eaten by it, and Hermione runs off. Harry starts playing chess with the snake, down in the sewers. Then he kills the snake, and professor Snape gets mad at Harry, because the snake was his friend. The end.

Location(s): Hogwarts bathroom, chamber of secrets, sewers.

Start date (the date the idea gets accepted by the producers): January 12th 2010

End date (the date when the final video is uploaded to youtube): March 6th 2010

Budget: The bodyguards will be payed $15.000 each day of production. The runners will be payed $10.000 each day of production. Joe Woode will be payed 10% of all earnings, Spike Lee and Lucas Cane will be payed 5% each of all earnings. The producer(editor) will be payed 20% of all earnings, the director will be payed 15% of all earnings and the cameramen will be payed 10% of all earnings each. The last money will go to the company-safe.

***END OF PRODUCTION PLAN EXAMPLE***

(( ^this plan is PURE example. the actual payment is not necessarily the same as listed here, for anybody. when a film is completed, the producers have to judge who worked the hardest to complete the film - that way they know who will get a bigger cut ))

When the plan is finished, the production-team can move on to shooting the film. The directors will instruct the cameramen and actors in the film, and the scene will be repeated until it's perfect. It is the job of the director and the cameramen to make sure everything goes as planned (( shaky camera, random DM'er appear, etc )).
The bodyguards will be watching out, and blocking the area (with cars most of the times), so people don't interrupt the recordings. The runners will be available if the director, producer, actor or cameraman is in need of anything. If there is no producer on the set, the director will determine when it is time for a coffee-break.

When all the recordings are done, all the material will be handed over to the producer of the project. The producer will edit it, and create the final version to upload on youtube. (( HOW to send the material to the producer - that is up to the producer and cameramen (getdropbox.com might be useful) ))

Where to watch the videos:

All of our videos will be uploaded to youtube, and this is where people actually watch them.

IC: www.vec.com (fake link, only for RP purpose)
OOC: www.youtube.com/vinewoodec (real link to our youtube-channel)

The URL of our forums:

IC: www.vec.com (fake link, only for RP purpose)
OOC: www.vinewoodec.tk (real link to these forums)

Pay/economy:
Your pay depends on how much YOU did for the video, and how much we benefit from the final video - it is risky, and we CAN lose money on a production, but that is the real world works - that is just another reason to put all you've got into the video. So the pay wont depend on your rank, but on how active you are. The lower ranks such as bodyguards and runners will sometimes get a predefined pay (if the producer(s) have agreed with it).

We get paid by the government (and admins) by making our videos - it is our main source of money, and we can earn much on it. The government will pay the producers, and then the producers will keep some for the company, and then distribute the rest for themselves, and the rest of the staff.

The bodyguards will get their guns and armor sponsored by the company, as long as they do their job good, and are willing to stay at the studios at times, to keep out strangers, and protect the staff, studios and our vehicles.

Story:

***STORY START***

It all began when Joe Wilkerson entered a restroom inside Mercer Middle School, located in Sacramento, California. Joe was 14 and came from a wealthy family; his dad was a big shot movie producer and his mom was a psychiatrist. You see, Joe was in his civics class and decided to waste some time by going to the restroom. As he entered the restroom, he saw a chubby kid wearing a plaid flannel smoking some weed. Joe knew that a couple of kids in his school smoked weed, but he’s never actually seen it with his own eyes. Coming from a high society, he never really cared for weed, as he thought that he’d never encounter. With having nothing else to do in the bathroom, as he entered it for the purpose of passing time, he decided to ask the chubby kid for his name. The chubby kid didn’t answer his question, and instead, just stared at him with red, slanted eyes. After roughly 3 minutes, the kid rolled Joe a blunt and offered him it. Joe denied the invitation, having heard the consequences of smoking weed in his Health class. The kid walked over to Joe and starting smoking his blunt right under Joe’s nose, getting Joe high from second hand smoke, and then faintly mumbling the words, “Name’s Albert Ravn”. Joe finally took the blunt, and started smoking it with Albert.

Joe and Albert smoked weed for about 3 more months, getting it from a hooded man at the skatepark near their school. The hooded man’s name was Max Power; he was a 23 year old man who discreetly grew marijuana plants in his backyard. Over the months, Joe’s mom had noticed changes in Joe’s behavior and told him that she’d be taking him to a lab for urine testing in a week. The next day, Joe fled from his house to Albert’s house. Albert couldn’t let his parents know that Joe was hiding at his place, so he instructed Joe to hide in a treehouse in his backyard. The following evening, Albert heard the doorbell of his house ring. He looked through the window on the top floor of his house and saw two police officers waiting outside. Albert immediately ran out the back door of his house and climbed up into the treehouse to wake up Joe. As he woke Joe up, he told Joe about the police officers in the front of his house, and they both fled to the skatepark to find Max, who wasn’t where he usually was. Joe and Alb decided that they’d spend the night under a half-pipe at the skatepark and look for Max Power the next morning. Joe and Albert were woken up by Max Power, whose eyes were bloodshot red. Joe and Albert explained the story to Max, and then they all voyaged over to Max’s house. Max racked up all of his marijuana and then all three of them rented a boat and sailed over to San Andreas, where they would live their new lives.

Eight years later, Joe, Alb, and Max’s friendship grew even stronger, they’ve always had each other’s backs, and they were still addicted to marijuana. It’s such a shame that they were running out of marijuana at one point, but nevertheless, Joe had an idea: He’d follow in his father’s footsteps and become a movie producer, gaining enough money for a lifetime’s supply of weed. Albert and Max both agreed with the idea, so they gathered up all their money and bought the deed to an old, abandoned movie studio in Vinewood. They named their little movie making company “Vinewood Entertainment Company”. They’d start off their little business by making their first music video, “Island of the Honest Man”. They had to give up the rest of their weed to give to the actors as their pay. The music video was bought by MTV, and when it first broadcasted there it received millions of views. They gained roughly 500 grand, which meant that Alb, Joe, and Max would have enough money for, let’s say, a “shitload” of weed.

After their huge success, the three started wanting more, and their demands would never be reached. The next video that they were planning to make was for a song called “Go Cops”. The script called for cops, and the three were so desperate to make the video look perfect, that they bribed actual cops with weed to be actors in their video, even though the video actually suggested that the LSPD was corrupt and racist. The video used up roughly 20 actors in total, each getting paid at least 15 grand. After the video was released to the public, MTV bought it once again, and this time, for $3,200,00. During the making of the second video, one of the cops that was bribed weed to be an actor, Frank Hunt, became good friends with Joe, thus, he was accepted as an executive member of the Vinewood Entertainment Company.

Several weeks later, a FBI raid was held at the Vinewood Entertainment Company headquarters while Joe, Frank, and Max were out eating at Burger Shot. Albert, however, was inside one of the studios at the company’s headquarters, checking out some lighting. The FBI had found over 500 grams of weed in the company safe, and then later found and detained Albert. When Joe, Frank, and Max came back to the headquarters, they noticed that the contents of the safe have been removed, and that Albert was nowhere to be found. Suddenly, Joe’s phone rang, and the Caller ID couldn’t identify where the call was coming from. Joe decided to pick it up and later found out that it was Albert, getting his one and only phone call before going to jail, and then to court. Albert told Joe and the others to just pay the bail, and get him out of jail until his court date. Joe did as he said, and Albert was then set free on bail until his trial.

Three days before Albert’s trial, Max and Frank got heated up, and then paid a visit to San Andreas’s circuit court’s judge. They broke down the front door, and found the judge up in his bedroom fucking his wife. Breaking the awkwardness created when Max and Frank walked in on the judge’s love making, they both pointed their guns at the judge and his wife, telling them that if the judge didn’t make it so Albert would be given minimal punishment, they would take him and his family to the rockets out in desert near DeMorgan, tie them up to it, and shoot it until it blows up. Max and Frank both realized that there was a slight chance that they had made Albert’s circumstances worse, but they were still willing to take the risk. They then shot off the judge’s left testicle in front of his wife and then told him that if Albert didn’t get his way, next time they’d shoot his right testicle in front of City Hall.

Two months later, Albert, Frank, Joe, and Max were filming a scene for a new music video. As you may have guessed, the judge had listened to Max and Frank, but the case was the appealed to a higher court, and the whole process of threatening the appellate court judge happened the same way as threatening the circuit court judge, except the appellate court judge was fucking a hooker, not his wife. After the result of the second court case, no one bothered appealing the case to the San Andreas Supreme Court, thus, Joe, Frank, Max, and Albert continued to live in harmony, smoking weed and filming videos with their upgraded filming crew and equipment to this day.

***END OF STORY***

Geographic stuff:
The Vinewood Studios are located in the middle of Vinewood.
We want the studio buildings scripted with different interiors in each of them, so we can actually use them as real studios.
There are 6 studio-buildings, but one of them has 2 doors, so we should be able to get 7 different interiors scripted.

The interiors will probably first be scripted AFTER the update, and then the leaders will decide which interiors we will use.

The small non-studio buildings will be used as our meeting room (with the HQ safe), and some of them will (possibly) be scripted as offices of the producers.

We will rent a bus if we need lots of actors for the video.

Skins:
All skins should be availiable to the family, since it has no real colour or dresscode. Since families HAVE to have family-skins, we have selected some (you may get skinchanges, though, just don't pick a skin from another family). All skins have to be approved by the producers, since the way we dress affects our image.
We would like the admins to script a changing room in one of the buildings by the studios, so we can change clothes when shooting a movie (instead of F4+kill or /report for skinchange). The changing room should have all (as many as possible) skins availiable for us.

The chosen skins right now:

Goal/idea of the company:
The goal and idea of the company is to create a whole new community in San Andreas - the entertainment community.
People will fight for the fame, and stories will be created.
We will be the top of this community - we will hire the biggest actors and directors, and we will create new trends. Stardom will rise to the heads of the citizens - this is also a good way for us to manipulate people's minds, and become kings of the world. Just like Hitler did it, back in the good ol' forties (lol).

Of course, the main idea of this is, to create lots and lots of good and lovely roleplay on the server.

Let me know what you think of all this, and feel free to suggest changes/new ideas Smile

Albert Ravn.

Eh, my idea for points is that we do 1 each day.

My idea for production is that we post the song, and for each time frame (e.g, 0:01-0:05), we will post:
Skin(s) Needed
What the people are doing
Location

That way, if we don't have certain people needed in game, anyone can pretty much do this.

Each timeframe would have a [ ] next to it, and if you've fraps'd one of the timeframes needed, you send me the file, and I'll put an 'X' in the [ ].
